New School On The Block - Podar International School - Powai

There is good news for Powai Parents as another school opens in our vicinity.

With a pretty good track record at other branches Podar International School opened its doors as admissions began in full swing a couple of months ago.

Here are some helpful details for Parents in Powai looking for school options.
The school is yet to begin but here is a preview of the school.
If you have any more details please feel free to share with us :)

4. What kind of entrance test will be taken at the time of admission?

No written test is conducted at Podar School. Admissions are taken on a first come, first serve basis.
In fact, any sort of entrance test is illegal as per law.

Parents Experience So Far -

According to a parent who has admitted his/her child in the school the infrastructure is fine but there are
some teething problems which they are facing. The fact, that Dr.Ms.Lulla is taking keen interest in this branch
is reassuring and hope that it continues.

If you have any feedback, opinion or info feel free to share by leaving your comments.
The school is scheduled to open on 19th June 2014 - So lets see how it goes.

Hope the above helps.

All the very best.

I have received some good feedback about Nahar International School though it seems that they are charging too much (approx 3 lacs) considering that they still have to build a reputation.

Hi ..
Thanks for sharing admission details for Podar International School Powai. I will be moving shortly to Powai, Mumbai, looking for reviews on teaching quality, extra curricular activities and general discipline at Podar International Powai, CBSE and CISE sections for the secondary years (5th, 6th, 7th Standard).

Thanks in advance.

Personally I didnot like Podar Powai CIE one bit. 7th grade highest grade there. We moved from a different place to Mumbai and had heard about Podar being a very reputed and established school. During admission the principal spoke politely though very little and so though the school lacks in infrastructure as they are housed in a office building kind of place we went ahead on the basis of reputation and initial interaction. But all that turned out to be a faux. The children are so pressurised in the 7th grade itself as the school wants to get high marks to show off. They have also included 8th grade syllabus and expect the students to write IGCSE's checkpoint exam at the end of 7th grade which includes syllabus from 6,7 & 8 grades. The principal is very adamant and head strong, does not like to take any critical feedback. The teachers seem to be overworked. The school is quite disorganized and they hardly have other activities that they claim to have like music, dance, indoor games etc. As far as I know most parents are frustrated with the school's attitude. I would not recommend this school if you have a free thinking kid. But if you are looking only at studies and tests and exams whole year then this schol may be the right fit.

I am to shift from Delhi with family and almost in final stage of admitting my daughter in the VIII standard of CBSE system in Podar Intl. Powai. Though few questions arise before the final decision. Does Podar International already has a CBSE affiliation. Some of the comments posted here worry me about the work load being more on children and the focus being purely on the academics and not on other activities like sports, inter house activities, etc. This doesn't contribute to the wholistic development of the child. I also have a doubt that the teachers being over stressed, it may be difficult for some of the teachers to teach in both the morning and the afternoon batch.

Podar international school powai is one of the worst schools we have witnessed in our life ...my suggestion to anyone who's considering this school for the admission of their kids wud b 'NO'... U wud suffer a lot ...it's just a waste of ur time and money...my kids studied here for an year and it's nonsense... They made the students to tell n number of lies during affiliation process...principal is pathetic...
